Editorial policy
Honest Design Review aims to make interior design easier to understand without overstating what an article can establish. We write with care, explain the basis of our guidance and make relevant commercial relationships visible.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements before publication and revise wording that could leave a misleading impression. Design preferences are not universal rules, so we identify when a suggestion depends on a room, a routine or a reader's taste. Our articles are written to inform, not to substitute for qualified help where a project involves specialist or safety-critical work.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can tell what it is. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and the publication may decline an arrangement that does not fit its subject or standards.
Corrections and illustrations
If a reader spots an error, they can contact us with the article and the point in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear where appropriate. Some illustrations on Honest Design Review may be AI-generated; they are visual aids, not evidence of a real room or product.
Design should start with looking closely.
We begin with the room, its routines and what is already on hand. A considered change need not start with a shopping list.
